Because the modern day Christian lacks understanding of this issue, churches suffer greatly and have little influence in this society. Unfortunately, I do not expect the situation to change anytime soon. The following lesson is to at least take a step in the right direction.
Because the behavior of Christians, including fundamental, Bible-believing Christians, more closely resembles the behavior of pagans and atheists, than that of a child of the LORD God. Hence, Christians are bringing the judgment of God upon America just like the pagans and atheists.
I first heard about Josef Tson back in the 1990’s. The tape I have from then is a partial recording, but it is very powerful. The video is not quite as powerful, but the message is the same. The message is profitable for all, and fundamental, unaffiliated Baptists would do well to take heed.
The greatest danger faced by those who claim to be born again is not from any threatened persecution. Rather, this danger comes from within – from their very own heart. It is the fact of the following verse that presents the greatest danger of all:
Have you believed in Christ for your salvation? How do you know? What did you do when you believed?
This is the second of two parts addressing the issue of the use of unknown tongues in any aspect of the life of the believer. This picks up the lesson in I Corinthians 14:23 and continues from there.
This is the first of two parts addressing the issue of the use of unknown tongues in any aspect of the life of the believer. This also addresses the use of a foreign language (known tongues) in a church. We should note the LORD does place an emphasis on knowledge and understanding, particularly understanding. He also places a strong emphasis on edifying the brethren and the church.
This audio lesson is the precursor to the lessons on speaking in tongues. It (hopefully) lays the groundwork for understanding that the practice of speaking in tongues does not, and cannot impart a better understanding of the Person, will and work of the LORD God. Plainly, by the Scripture, the LORD God would much rather have His people to possess knowledge and understanding than silver, gold, or any other physical thing.
This addresses the fact that the grace bestowed at salvation is much more than just unmerited favor. Rather, it is also the means by which the believer accomplishes the work the LORD God has called them to. This message is about understanding that, and about letting the grace that is in the believer accomplish the purpose the LORD has set for it.
A two-part lesson on the value of reproof.
